About Us

We are a group of Hong Kongers who are passionate about sports and have migrated / will migrate to the UK. We believe that sports are the best means to connect people and crucial for one’s physical and mental well-being which is particularly important for new immigrants who are still adapting to a new environment full of challenges. With the objectives of helping Hong Kongers stay healthy, build social circles and get to integrate to the UK local community, we established Harbour Sports Club in 2022.

Through the development of our membership program, we establish a nationwide framework to connect people and promote an active lifestyle for the maintenance of both physical and mental health. Our website and social media will regularly provide updates of sporting events and stories about Hong Kongers’ sports participation in the UK.  We will also organise local sports events for Hong Kongers to gather and make friends.

Mission and Vision

We facilitate Hong Kongers and other new immigrants in the UK to form social networks and to engage in the local community through sports.

We are committed to connecting people in the UK and building a lively, diversified and friendly community and help everyone live a healthy and fulfilling life in the UK through participation in sports.

Club Policies

1. Grievance and Disciplinary Policy

HSC / HAC values the safety and well-being of all our members, especially children and vulnerable adults. We adopt the grievance and disciplinary policy advocated by UKA and EA which is entrenched in our Constitution. The Welfare Officer of the Club is the Lead Officer for all members in the event of any safeguarding concerns. Every complaint and dispute would be dealt with in accordance with the Policy diligently.

2. Inclusion Policy

HSC / HAC embraces diversity and difference and is committed to providing opportunities that are safe, inclusive, accessible, and equitable. We want our club to be equally accessible to all members of society, whatever their age, disability, gender, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or social/economic status.

3. Privacy Policy

HSC / HAC is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. For any personal data you provide for the purposes of your membership, Harbour Athletic Club is the Data Controller and is responsible for storing and otherwise processing that data in a fair, lawful, secure and transparent way.

4. Health & Safety Policy

HSC / HAC is strongly committed to encouraging our members to take part, but the health, well-being and safety of everyone is always our paramount concern.  We recommend levels of training dependent on age and ability and expect our junior athletes to participate within these boundaries.

5. Anti-bullying Statement

HSC / HAC is committed to providing a caring, friendly, and safe environment for all of our members so they can participate in an inclusive sport where everyone belongs and can flourish. This statement relates to both online and face to face bullying. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable. Bullying takes many forms but ultimately it is the perception of the victim that determines whether or not they are being bullied rather than the intention of the bully. We expect that all volunteers and staff will work together to prevent and reduce bullying.

6. Online Safety & Social Media Policy

This policy has been developed to inform our club members about using social media (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram and all other social networking sites and forums) so people feel enabled to participate, while being mindful of their responsibilities and obligations. In particular, this policy provides practical guidance allowing all parties to benefit from the use of social media, while minimising potential risks and protecting those involved.

7. UKA & HCAF Safeguarding Regulations

HSC / HAC acknowledges and recognises the importance of safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults in our club. We embrace the values upheld and adopt the Safeguarding Regulations, Adults and Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures published by United Kingdom Athletics and the Home Country Athletics Federations. These documents are enforceable in our Club.
